Women In Power PAC Brunch – February 11, 2012
CALIFORNIALIST and Run Women Run partnered with the Women in Power PAC to host a brunch during the California Democratic Party State Convention held in San Diego this past weekend. Many of the Democratic women Assemblymembers and Senators were in attendance along with some of the 2012 Democratic women candidates. WIP PAC proceeds are used to help elect Democratic women to the California State legislature.

NWPC 2012 Remarkable Women Calendar Reception – October 20, 2011
Participants and honorees were there to support NWPC’s mission of electing pro-choice women to public office. All ticket & sponsor proceeds went to their Political Action Committee and will be given directly to our endorsed women candidates.

The annual Power of Choice Summit & Reception held at the Directors Guild of America honoring Corky Hale Stoller.  The reception was co-chaired by CALIFORNIALIST Founder Bettina Duval and Actress Felicity Huffman.

A discussion group was organized by CALIFORNIALIST to understand the answer to the question: Is electing women to government important?  Thank you to Pris Walton for organizing our event. Former Assemblywoman Anna Caballero was appointed to her current position as Secretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency on March 22 and we also celebrated her appointment.

Oakland Group Discussion, Mills College – April 12, 2011
A discussion group was organized by CALIFORNIALIST to understand the answer to the question: Is electing women to government important? During the discussion, race versus gender dominated the conversation. Among the younger women present, their consensus was that race is more important.

CALIFORNIALIST hosts a reception for training attendees to meet current lawmakers prior the training session.  Many of the elected women supported by CALIFORNIALIST attended the reception to encourage and mentor potential women candidates.

Judy Chu Inauguration – March 30, 2011
Bettina Duval, Founder of CALIFORNIALIST, attends former California Board of Equalization member Judy Chu’s inauguration to Congress. CALIFORNIALIST supported Rep. Judy Chu during her races for both the State Assembly and the Board of Equalization. Watching Rep. Chu’s swearing in ceremony is a reminder of how important the pipeline is to make sure there is female representation in Congress and all levels of government.

Inauguration Day – January 20, 2009
Then Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass and Senate President Pro-Tem Darrell Steinberg co-hosted with CALIFORNIALIST a reception for Californians in Washington, D.C. to celebrate together the inauguration of our Nation’s 44th President Barack Obama.
